Buffy movie remake: I'm sceptical, but willing to be proved wrong. I'd probably be less sceptical about the Buffy reboot if I thought this was actually about telling the story of Buffy Summers, feminist superhero, and less about cashing in on the Twilight craze.

EW is doing a countdown to Deathly Hallows by remembering the six previous Harry Potter films. So far, we've got Philosopher's Stone/"Sorcerer's Stone", Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and Order of the Phoenix. I'll link to Half-Blood Prince once it's posted tomorrow.

I'm two-thirds through the American version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (which I dled for reasons which don't need exploring at this juncture) and I am shocked--shocked, I tell you!--to discover that they didn't simply change the title sequence to reflect the whole "Sorcerer's stone" thing, which is what I had assumed ( Read more... )

I saw Harry Potter on Tuesday night! And hey, now I remember that I've actually read Half-Blood Prince. For some reason I'd forgotten that I'd read (and own) it and that it's only Books 4-5 that I haven't finished.
